Only IntruShield Received Approved Status for NSS' Stringent New IPS Certification Out of a Field of Industry's Top IPS Vendors

The certification procedure represents the NSS Group's most stringent test criteria to date, requiring IPS devices to be thoroughly tested in a specialized lab environment that evaluates IPS products in three main areas: performance and reliability, security accuracy, and usability.

This certification award is issued as a result of an extensive and rigorous testing methodology specific to multi-gigabit network IPS devices. McAfee is the first and only security vendor to achieve NSS Approved status under this new methodology and the sole recipient of the enterprise-level certification status. Out of a field that included the world's top IPS vendors, McAfee was the only company to have its products certified under the new methodology.
